The Coating, Waterproofing and Confinement Solutions division focuses on the production of Geosynthetic Bentonite Barriers (GBR-C) for environmental protection works, hydraulic works, infrastructure (MODULO GEOBENT) and waterproofing of structures (EDILMODULO). This sphere also encompasses production, sale and technical support with regard to granular and powdered bentonite (LAVIOBENT), bentonite for accidental spillage control (ADSORB), and auxiliary products for the waterproofing sector (Lavioseal, Waterstop, Laviomastic).

The Edilmodulo family of Geosynthetic Bentonite Barriers is designed for applications to protect underground concrete structures such as the waterproofing of underground foundation structures (slabs and foundation walls), waterproofing of tunnels and subways created with open excavations, and waterproofing of concrete hydraulic works.

EDILMODULO XP is a Geosynthetic Bentonite Barrier consisting of a uniform layer of sodium bentonite and two polypropylene geotextiles, which are mechanically connected by way of needle punching. EDILMODULO SW is a Geosynthetic Bentonite Barrier consisting of a bentonite/polymer mixture for use in the presence of fluids with a high salt content (particularly seawater). All products are CE-marked in accordance with the Harmonised Standards for GBR-C.
Environmental Protection
The Modulo Geobent family of Geosynthetic Bentonite Barriers is intended for environmental applications such as the construction of landfills for municipal, industrial and special waste; permanently securing full landfills or contaminated industrial areas; the construction of ponds used in mining processes; the waterproofing of reservoirs and hydraulic works; the protection of groundwater in transport infrastructures such as roads, railways and airports; and secondary protection in hydrocarbon storage areas.

MODULO GEOBENT HC refers to a range of Geosynthetic Bentonite Barriers consisting of a mixture of bentonite and organophilic clay, created for use in the presence of both polar and nonpolar liquids.

Absorbent Products.
Cleansol is a low-specific-weight product, ideal for the absorption of oily substances, hydrocarbons and chemical contaminants. Due to its grain size, it is easy to remove, forming a palatable solid slurry.
The second application encompasses the absorption of hydrocarbons in the case of accidental spills; the absorption of oil and derivatives while cleaning containment tanks; the recovery of chlorinated solvents used as degreasers; and the absorption of oils in workshops and industrial spaces. The bentonite products in the LAVIOBENT line have a high cation-exchange capacity and specific surface area. These characteristics make them particularly effective for the stabilisation and solidification of sludge and municipal waste. Adsorb Bentonite for hydrocarbon absorption. ADSORB is a range of bentonite-based products for the absorption of oils and hydrocarbons.
Sealants
These products are designed for applications to protect underground concrete structures such as the waterproofing of underground foundation structures (slabs and foundation walls), waterproofing of tunnels and subways created with open excavations, and waterproofing of concrete hydraulic works. Laviomastic and Laviobent are paste and powder bentonite products used to treat specific points in the application of geosynthetic bentonite barriers.
Sealants
LAVIOSEAL HT and LAVIOSEAL HF are waterstops based on sodium bentonite and polymers, used to seal cold joints in reinforced concrete structures.
